Botox relaxes muscles of the face which in turn reduce or eliminate the severity of the overlying skin wrinkles. Botox does nothing to the actual skin, but by decreasing the activity of the muscle, the skin becomes smooth. Dr. Baroody is highly-skilled in advanced Botox injection techniques. Areas that may improve with Botox injections include wrinkles between the eyes, forehead, crow’s feet (next to the eye), upper nose (“bunny lines”), lips, and the corners of the mouth. It is uncommon to bruise after the procedure, however, Dr.Baroody recommends avoiding ibuprofen and aspirin, if possible, 10 days prior to your Botox injections. If you take aspirin for a medical condition, check with your doctor before stopping the medication. The results of Botox injections begin 2-3 days after injection and are most active after 2 weeks. The results last from 3-4 months.
