How does SkinPen® work?

Is the treatment safe?

Yes. SkinPen® Medical treatments are performed by Dr. Baroody, a board-certified plastic surgeon, under strict sterile conditions.

How soon will I see results?

Results are typically seen after just one SkinPen® Medical treatment; however cumulative treatments are required to achieve the full desired result. The regenerating process will continue for up to 6 months following your treatment which further enhances the final outcome.

Is a SkinPen® Medical treatment painful?

Dr. Baroody applies a powerful numbing cream prior to your procedure to provide comfort for your SkinPen® Medical procedures.

What is the downtime?

Localized redness may last up to 2 days following your treatment. Make-up may be used 24 hours after your procedure to reduce any visible redness. Most patients resume normal activities immediately after a SkinPen® Medical treatment.

What conditions can a SkinPen® Medical procedure treat?

Dr. Baroody is able to treat various conditions, such as ageing, wrinkles, ultraviolet damage, hyperpigmentation, hypopigmentation, vitiligo, rosacea, telangiectasia, problematic acne, dilated pores, milia, keratosis pilaris, scarring, stretch marks, hair loss and more using the SkinPen®.

How long does a SkinPen® Medical treatment take?

A full face may be treated in approximately 10 minutes (not including anesthesia application or processing). After washing your face, Dr. Baroody will apply a topical anesthetic for approximately 20 minutes prior to your procedure.

How many treatments will I require?

Generalized rejuvenation can be achieved in a little as three treatments. Conditions such as scarring and stretch marks however may require a minimum of 5 sessions. Depending on the condition being targeted, treatments are performed on average every 4 weeks.
