CVS Makes Changes… for Your Skin

A great morning skin care routine should always end with the same thing: SPF. While a sun-kissed glow will easily make you look healthier and more vibrant, the reason behind that tan—i.e., the sun—will quickly turn your skin into leather if you’re not wearing sunscreen regularly. However, not all of us have jumped on the SPF train just yet, and many still rely on a bit of tanning oil to get their skin that golden hue. In a press release from by the company, CVS stated that it will be removing all sun care products with an SPF lower than 15 from its stores and replacing them with 30 new, FDA-standardized SPF products. The change is part of the drugstore chain’s “Long Live Skin” campaign, which is meant to educate followers on the ways in which they can protect and improve their skin’s health. In addition to this campaign, CVS has also partnered with Johnson & Johnson, which is promising to donate $1 to the American Cancer Society for every Aveeno and Neutrogena sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher purchased during the period between June 18 to June 24.

So, it looks like it’s finally time to toss your tanning oils and stock up on sun protection. Not only will your purchase go toward a great cause, but it will also save your skin from developing premature fine lines and wrinkles.
